2-505th PIR Conducts Inaugural “Vandervoort Mile”

Paratroopers from 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment honored an Airborne legend Thursday, January 24 and Friday, January 25.

The 2P paratroopers ruck marched 25.05 miles overnight on Fort Bragg in honor of Lt. Col. Benjamin Vandervoort, the 2-505th PIR’s commander during the Normandy Invasion.

Fury Paratroopers Conduct Weapons Training

Paratroopers from the 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment conducted weapons familiarization and live-fire ranges January 16, 2019 at Camp Atterbury, Indiana.

The training included safety procedures and employment of the M9 pistol and M-320 Grenade Launcher with both dry and live-fire iterations.

The battalion is training at Camp Atterbury as part of its Off-Post-Training Cycle to give paratroopers and leaders an opportunity to conduct complex training in realistic, tough environments.

Join Gator Paratroopers in the CBRNE Chamber

Join Gator paratroopers from the 82nd Brigade Support Battalion as they conduct Chemical Defense training on Fort Bragg.

The training required the paratroopers to enter a sealed chamber filled with tear-gas to perform a series of tasks and exercises.

Training like this builds the paratrooper’s knowledge how to use their M50 Protective Mask and confidence in its ability to protect them from airborne chemical hazards.
