Panther Paratroopers Patrol in South Kandahar

Fort-Bragg based paratroopers conducted a patrol Friday, August 9th in Afghanistan to observe the local area and speak with Afghan civilians about security in the region.

Paratroopers assigned to the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division conduct a dismounted patrol Friday, August 9 in Kandahar, Afghanistan. The paratroopers conducted the patrol to gauge security within the region and to speak to local Afghan civilians about their concerns.

 

Paratroopers from the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division patrolled areas in southern Kandahar, Afghanistan to gauge security within the region and ensure they understood the concerns of Afghan civilians living in the region.

A paratrooper from the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division prepares to launch a Black Hornet personal Unmanned Aerial System Friday, August 9 in Kandahar, Afghanistan in support of a dismounted patrol in the region. The Black Hornet provided overhead surveillance for the patrol as it gauged security in the region and spoke to local Afghans about their concern. The first Army brigade to utilize the personal UAS, paratroopers of 3rd Brigade routinely employ the system to provide on-the-ground elements better awareness of their environment and while reducing their tactical risk.
