The Panther Brigade welcomed Col. Arthur Sellers on Friday, June 22nd during the brigade’s Change of Command Ceremony on Fort Bragg’s Pike Field.
Sellers assumed command from Col. Gregory Beaudoin who led the brigade as the most ready conventional force in the U.S. Army as part of the Global Response Force.
Sellers, a recent graduate of the U.S. Naval War College, has served in numerous staff and command positions in the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment and the Joint Special Operations Command.
We congratulate the winner of the 2018 JanneyCup, 1st Lt. Jacob Poag of 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment! Over a series of events spanning 48 hours; a PT Test, a 12-mile ruck march on Fort Bragg, N.C., a stress shoot, a written test, a timed iteration of the All American Mile and a board, Poag emerged above all other Panther Lieutenants competing this year.
Lieutenants assigned to the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division competed in the Janney Cup, an annual competition held to determine the brigade’s top Lieutenant. The brigade hosts the Janney Cup each year in honor of 2nd Lt. Richard Janney, a member of the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment killed during the Normandy Invasion when the vehicle he was driving struck a land mine.
