Headquarters, Cobalt Paratroopers Conduct Sunset Jump

Fort Bragg-based paratroopers conducted a static-line jump Friday, February 1, 2019 to maintain their proficiency at airborne operations and follow-on missions.

Paratroopers from Headquarters, Headquarters Company and the 307th Airborne Engineer Battalion conducted a combat-equipment static-line airborne operation onto Fort Bragg’s Normandy Drop Zone and rehearsed their roles as part of an Assault Command Post afterwards.

2-505th PIR Conducts Inaugural “Vandervoort Mile”

Paratroopers from 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment honored an Airborne legend Thursday, January 24 and Friday, January 25.

The 2P paratroopers ruck marched 25.05 miles overnight on Fort Bragg in honor of Lt. Col. Benjamin Vandervoort, the 2-505th PIR’s commander during the Normandy Invasion.

3rd Brigade Paratroopers Compete for December Best Squad

Paratroopers from across the brigade gathered early December to compete for the title of Best Squad.

Stations during the competition included a series of physical fitness events and a distance run to Fort Bragg’s Pike Field.

At Pike Field, the paratroopers faced stations testing their medical knowledge, communication skills and airborne proficiency.

The teams then faced a station established by the Fort Bragg R2 Performance team testing their mental agility and communication skills before finishing in the Engagement Skills Trainer.
